Aurelius, a leading financial services firm, relocated within their central London building, consolidating two smaller floor plates into one larger space to accommodate their increased headcount. Budget efficiency and sustainability were key design drivers, with the client committed to reusing as much existing furniture as possible. Broadbase were engaged to deliver a comprehensive furniture and move management strategy that maximised reuse and minimised disruption, while achieving a cohesive and professional finish.

Solution

Broadbase worked alongside Virtus Designworks, who delivered a sustainably led CAT B fit-out, reusing existing on-site materials alongside new bespoke joinery.

Sustainable Consultation
We began with a full audit of existing furniture to assess its condition and compatibility with the new design. Our assessment identified which pieces were suitable for reuse, refurbishment, or replacement with quality used or new alternatives.

Furniture Choices
Existing desks and storage were repurposed and integrated with new pieces to accommodate a larger headcount. Task chairs were reused or replaced with quality used alternatives. All seating was professionally cleaned once installed. The addition of new desk screens in a consistent finish across every desk position unified the overall aesthetic.

Meeting tables were refurbished with new tops, and quality used credenzas were upgraded with new doors to match the table finishes. Existing soft seating was reused and repositioned within the new layout. Key focal points such as the boardroom, tea point and client-facing areas were furnished with new products to deliver design impact

Logistics and Move Management
Broadbase managed the full procurement, logistics, and installation programme, including IT decomm / recomm. A phased weekend programme allowed the relocation and installation of furniture to be completed with minimal disruption to business operations.

Sustainability
Through strategic reuse and refurbishment, the project achieved an exceptionally high reuse ratio, diverting the majority of redundant furniture from waste. This approach supported both the client’s environmental commitments and the overall project budget.
