Broadbase collaborated with Virtus Designworks on the full refurbishment of this Britannia Street workspace, with the goal of delivering a modern, design-led office ready for market. The brief required a high-quality, commercially attractive environment with improved accessibility and an upgraded layout that incorporated meeting rooms, enhanced breakout facilities, and a welcome area. Sustainability was central to the scheme, with the team aiming to create a premium workspace while minimising waste and cost through the strategic use of quality used and refurbished furniture.
Design Approach
Following the overall design intent and layout, Broadbase proposed furniture options that fit within the established aesthetic. Chair samples were provided for on-site testing and approval to ensure suitability within the scheme. We also curated and recommended finishes, soft furnishings, and rugs to create a cohesive look across all areas.
Furniture Strategy
Our sustainable furniture strategy blended quality used, refurbished, and select new pieces. Quality used desking frames were upgraded with new end legs, and task chairs combined reused chassis with reupholstered seats. Breakout tables and chairs were quality used, with stools reupholstered, and soft seating was primarily reused, complemented by a new reception sofa for visual impact. Two quality used meeting pods were added to maximise functionality within the compact floorplate. This blended approach created a cohesive, design-led workspace while reducing both cost and environmental impact.
Project Delivery
Broadbase managed the procurement, delivery, and installation of all reused, refurbished, and new furniture. Minor layout changes were accommodated during the process to ensure the final arrangement supported full usability for the client.
The result is a stylish, accessible, and sustainable workspace that meets the client’s design and functional goals.
