Challenge

This central London project involved transforming an outdated 9,500 sq ft office floor into a modern, flexible, open-plan workspace. The goal was to create a high-quality, vibrant space with a key focus on adaptability, sustainability and cost efficiency.
Brought into the project by Virtus contractors for our expertise in quality used furniture, The challenge was to integrate second-hand pieces seamlessly into the design to align with both the project’s aesthetic and environmental goals. Additionally, there was a late decision to include height-adjustable desks, which added pressure on lead time, requiring us to move quickly to meet the client’s requirements.

Solution

Our furniture services contributed to the delivery of a vibrant and adaptable workspace that met the client’s vision within budget and time constraints.

Sourcing and Specification: Our role was to provide a furniture package that balanced cost, sustainability, and design intent. We sourced high-quality second-hand pieces that seamlessly integrated with new furniture, ensuring a cohesive and premium aesthetic. The strategic use of quality used furniture allowed us to achieve the high-end look while managing the budget efficiently.
Agile and Collaborative Spaces: The workspace was designed to be highly adaptable, with a mix of meeting pods, high stools, task chairs, and breakout furniture. This created a variety of agile work settings supporting both focused tasks and informal collaboration.
Sustainability: By incorporating repurposed and refurbished furniture, we supported the project’s environmental objectives, minimising waste and reducing the carbon footprint of the fit-out. This approach aligned with the broader sustainability goals of both the client and the project team.

We brought Broadbase into the team to complete this office fit-out in central London. Our client’s objective was to update their 9,500 sq ft office floor into a contemporary open-plan workspace with space for 80 people. We chose Georgina and her team for their expertise and industry knowledge of the quality used furniture market. The team’s creative solutions ensured our client achieved their budget and vision of a flexible working space without compromising on design or function. The Broadbase team take a hands-on approach to their projects and are attentive and helpful throughout, including their onsite assistance. I would not hesitate to recommend them and look forward to continuing to work with them on future projects.
