Orgatec 2022

[EVENTS]

Orgatec is an international office furniture trade fair that welcomes all industry professionals from the office and facility market. The event is held bi-annually in Cologne, Germany.

The theme of this years week long show was ‘New Visions of Work’ which explored the concept of ‘tomorrow’s office’ and how the workplace is transforming post-pandemic in a more digitally focussed world.

Broadbase jumped at the chance to spend a day at the first live Orgatec since 2018, it was great to absorb as much as possible of what Europe has to offer. We caught up with familiar faces and were also pleased to connect with so many new innovative manufacturers and designers.

This is our list of standout products from the show:

  • Roocs Room by Gerriets  – These room partitions are a softer alternative to a closed pod whilst still offering the acoustic benefits of sound insulation.
  • pony by gumpo – This collection of colourful mobile stools was hard to not notice; they looked great and we loved their fun ad campaign.
  • MyTrash by Houe – This standout concept of ‘from trash to treasure’ uses recycled household plastic to create new chairs and tables.
  • Sabot by Prostoria – Inspired by residential interiors, this soft and curved modular sofa includes planters that can be used to create green privacy screens.
  • PlantPanel by AM Acoustics – Ticking both the design boxes of acoustics and biophilia, these wall panels can be configured to suit your space.
  • Pavilion O by kettal – This high-end pod collection offers a completely bespoke solution for the workplace. With endless colour options, each pod can be configured in multiple ways to create solutions for meeting rooms, video conference rooms, breakout spaces, locker areas and more. The pods can also be integrated with Kettal’s collection of lighting and accessories.
  • Jazz by Lapalma – This aluminium and wood bookcase is a refreshing update on the standard cube shelf design. Ideal as a room divider in an open-plan space.
  • Bobby by Blå Station – An easily configurable soft seating solution using strong magnets to connect the modules. A great idea for an adaptable office space.
  • Midi Studio Booth by Koplus – A perfect solution for a private space in an open-plan office. Its excellent acoustics make them ideal for video calls.
  • New School by MDD –  We particularly loved the frame detail on the tables from this collection, it really elevated the simple design. Available in several shape, size and colour options.
  • Se:kit by Sedus – This brand new chair from Sedus uses a modular approach to design and parts with the user deciding which components they would like to include with their chair. It was also very comfortable!
